Saturday get-together
We went to a get-together on Saturday at our friends’ house. It was a religious event followed by dinner. Apart from the hosts, we only knew Nicole and her kids.
Meeting Nicole no longer evokes intense longing now as it used to earlier. But the feelings are still there, albeit a fraction of what they used to be when I was in the throes of obsession with her. When we were chatting before dinner, Erin asked her if she would be interested in going to Switzerland with us, and I was like what! Imagine me at one of the most romantic places on earth with my wife on one side and my crush on the other - a crush who doesn’t return my feelings, like at all. That would be too much pain for me to bear.
One last thing I want to say is that I think Izzy puts on so much makeup that it shows she’s trying too hard to impress. The irony is that she’s naturally beautiful and doesn’t need to do this much or anything at all. She needs to learn a trick or two from Sade who has grown to be such a fine woman.
